† while his name is zarek, he stopped going by that. years ago. he hates the name. he goes by "angel". on stage, his alias is "angel cyanide". unless a person has been friends with him for years or has seen his actual driver's license? nobody knows his name isn't angel. he likes it that way.
† was born in portland, oregon and lived there until he was nine years old. he still has family that lives in the portland area. his parents divorced when he was nine and his mother, whom he ended up moving with, moved to los angeles, california. he lived in los angeles until he was seventeen. when he was seventeen his mom and her boyfriend wanted to move and ended up in charlotte, north carolina. while he enjoyed living there, he ended up moving back to los angeles when he was nineteen years old.
† has been in a number of bands. he was in a tribute band to iconic rockers primal scream while in los angeles called 'five years dead', as well as other metal/rock bands. he's currently the bassist for suicidal vanity, having met jersey peroza through a couple mutual friends out in chicago, illinois when he lived there for a year. suicidal vanity is the longest term gig he's been a part of, and now that they're starting to branch out from just one area, it's even more exciting since angel truly believes in the message that suicidal vanity has to bring to the table.
† a lot of people don't know that angel's a self taught computer expert. he can general fix, repair or hack any system you put in front of him. he found this love of computers and technology when he was really young and it's actually stayed with him right up until the present day. he's a complete whiz kid even if you wouldn't think it to look at him. while he's what people would call 'goth' and well, generally a 'satan worshiper' looking type fellow? (direct assumptions, not an exaggeration) he's really, really smart when it comes to tech matters. he's always fixing something for friends and tinkering with his own personally built and programmed computer. his best friend, by far, is his glorified mp3 player - his ipod. he never goes anywhere without his iphone. he's a bit of an i-product junkie and yes, he owns an ipad, as well.
† is severely into the occult and studies up on ghosts, the supernatural and phenomenon lore from all over the world. it's something he invests a lot of interest in. he believes in witches and demons and ghosts and other lore, while most people believe it's all fake. he has encountered the supernatural therefore he believes there's a greater scale of phenomena or lore that's legitimate. he's on a personal quest to discover more and often goes ghost hunting and graveyard investigating in his spare time. most people classify it 'fucking weird' but it's just something angel enjoys.
† is the type of person who doesn't really look like the dangerous type unless you judge strictly on appearance, but if someone messes with his family or anyone he cares about he's basically an entirely different person.
† loves to laugh and just generally have a good time. he's young, therefore he likes acting young, doing things at random, being spontaneous, trying new things, traveling and just living each day to the fullest. even though, he tends to do most of his living at night. most of his friends are nocturnal therefore angel is around mostly at night because of this. no real reason other than to be with the people he's closest to.
† doesn't really have much of a relationship with either of his parents at this point in his life. he's on speaking terms with them, no real bad blood, but doesn't go out of his way to visit them. his mother still lives in north carolina with her husband of nine years and his father now lives in seattle, washington with his wife of three years. he doesn't particularly care for his father's wife, will not acknowledge her as his step mother, mainly because she's only 2 years older than he is. he finds it disturbing and revolting. he tries not to be judgmental but that just disturbs him entirely too much to be impartial. he has a fairly well standing relationship with his step father though, considering how good the man is to his mother.
† might come off as an asshole in some situations, but angel's just generally a fun loving goof who treats people like they treat him. if you're a douchebag? you're going to get the 'i don't give a fuck' side of angel. if you treat him with respect? he'll treat you like one of his own. that's just how he was raised. he refuses to let anyone walk all over him or anyone that he cares about, that's just the bottom line.
